For nearly a century, Inclinator has been designing and building elevators for homes in America. Homeowners across Montgomery County trust us for quality. By choosing a home elevator installation, you can enjoy the following benefits:
- Safe and reliable mobility: We include several standard safety features, such as emergency stop and gate monitoring. Our elevators also come with backup batteries for power outages.
- Space savings: Our elevators take up about 15 square feet of space, which is much more compact than a standard staircase, which can be upward of 30 square feet.
- Increased home value: A home elevator adds value to your property and opens your home to new, accessibility-focused market segments.
Our Five-Step Home Elevator Installation Process
Your local Rockville, MD dealer will keep you updated throughout the process, from design to installation. Every project we take on follows these simple steps:
Step 1: Consultation & Planning
- Homeowner: Contact your local dealer and share any existing home plans or project details.
- Dealer: Conduct an onsite consultation (or architectural drawing review) to recommend the best drive system and hoistway layout for your space.
Step 2: Design Selection & Quote
- Homeowner: Select your design finishes, including cab style, gates, and accessories.
- Dealer: Provide a quote based on your specific selections.
Step 3: Technical Drawings & Permits
- Homeowner: Review and approve hoistway drawings with your contractor and secure necessary permits (if applicable).
- Dealer: Create hoistway drawings with all necessary requirements, and review with homeowner and contractor.
Step 4: Construction & Inspection
- Homeowner: Have hoistway built by your contractor to match approved hoistway drawings – including flush door requirements.
- Dealer: Coordinate with contractor during construction phase to ensure hoistway is being built per the drawing requirements and inspect hoistway after completion.
Step 5: Installation & Handoff
- Homeowner: Attain completed permit paperwork (if applicable), and attend the final review to learn how to operate and maintain your new elevator.
- Dealer: Install elevator, perform safety testing, demonstrate proper operation, and ensure that applicable elevator permit requirements have been satisfied.

What Our Customers Are Saying
Tailor Your Cab’s Interior
We can finish your cab’s interior design with your choice of personalization options or leave it unfinished for your contractor to do on-site. Explore our finishing options:
Walls
We offer a selection of popular domestic and exotic hardwood veneers for our 200, 250, 300 and 400 cabs. Our 500 models’ acrylic panel walls are supported by a durable aluminum frame, and the 100 cab comes with paintable medium-density fiberboard.
Ceilings
The walls give way to an acrylic dome ceiling on our 500 design. We can match the 200, 250, 300 and 400 ceilings to the same wood veneer walls, and our 100 cab has a white laminate ceiling.
Lights
We can configure up to four LED overhead lights, or you can do it yourself on-site.
Floors
All our cabs come with commercial-grade laminate floors in wood-grain finishes, or they can remain unfinished oak for your contractor to work on.
Fixtures and Finishes
We offer wooden or rounded metal handrails and three finishes for hall stations and the operation panel.
